This recording begins with a lecture by Professor Louise Newman of Monash University on 'Beyond the Island - experiences of asylum seekers in Australia'. Psychologists Julian Caruana and Alexia Rossi are next, with a joint lecture on 'Responding to mental health vulnerability in Maltese detention centres: the use of psychological support groups as an intervention tool'. Devorah Wainer (Sydney University) follows with 'The voice of the silenced in the Australian detention system'. Mollie Gerver (London School of Economics) ends the recording with her talk on 'Deportation of Sudanese children by Israel'.
